US: Goods and services deficit expands to $73.3 billion in August
- US Goods and Services Trade Balance arrived at -$73.3 billion in August.

The goods and services deficit of the US expanded by $2.9 billion to $73.3 billion in August from $70.3 billion in July, the US Census Bureau reported on Tuesday. This reading came in worse than analysts' estimate for a deficit of $70.5 billion.
"August exports were $213.7 billion, $1.0 billion more than July exports," the publication further revealed. "August imports were $287.0 billion, $4.0 billion more than July imports."
Market reaction
This report doesn't seem to be having a significant impact on the greenback's performance against its major rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was up 0.14% on the day at 93.93.
