Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga was on the wires in the last minutes, via Reuters, noting that “we are at a critical period to prevent a surge in coronavirus infections.”

His comments come after the Japanese Health Ministry announced a total tally of infections having reached 2,003, with 55 deaths.
