Germany's economy minister Peter Altmaier, a staunch critic of Trump's protectionist policies, has called for a global alliance in favor of market economy, according to Reuters News. 

Back in August, Altmaier had sharply criticized President Trump's tariffs and sanctions, saying these measures would destroy jobs and growth.
