Cypriot banks to remain closed until Thursday
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Eurozone finance ministers are due to hold a conference call on Monday evening in order to discuss the situation in Cyprus. The government in Nicosia is trying to reach a last-minute agreement on how to soften the impact on small savers of the bank levy, which is one of the conditions required by international lenders in exchange for the bailout.
The parliamentary vote on the bailout, which was supposed to take place today, has been postponed until tomorrow. Furthermore, the Central Bank of Cyprus decided to extend the current bank holiday until Thursday, according to Associated Press and Reuters reports.
