OPEC’s Barkindo to call emergency OPEC meeting on production cut
The Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, announced Friday that he will summon an emergency meeting of member countries to discuss measures in a joint effort to tackle the falling crude oil price in the market.
Barkindo, who took over from Libya’s Abdallah El-Badri, who held the post since 2007, said his major task is to bring back unity among OPEC member-countries.
