USD/CHF continues overnight climb through Europe
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Having posted a weekly low at 0.9125 in and around the Asia open yesterday, USD/CHF has continued to appreciate to where it is currently trading at 0.9165, up 0.16% on the days trading, and just shy of the daily high at 0.9167.
USD/CHF being led by external forces?
Overnight, USD/CHF appreciated, taking cue from a combination Fed Chair Bernanke and Janet Yellen’s dovish commentary, and this morning softer than expected French GDP data which registered at -0.1% MoM, somewhat intensifying the recent focus on the key nations financial situation. Meanwhile, Swiss data this morning was relatively uneventful, with Producer and Import Prices MoM and YoY coming in at -0.4% and -0.3% respectively.
How strong has USD/CHF been?
Looking at the FXstreet proprietary tools, the OB/OS Index and Trend Index, we can see that the pair is neutral and slightly bearish respectively. Hourly RSI is at 53 and climbing, while ADX remains at 22. The hourly 200 SMA is at 0.9156 and flat, while the 20 day EMA is at 0.9105 and moving with an upward trajectory.
